The Oncology Nursing Society of Nigeria (ONSN) is a professional organization dedicated to promoting excellence in oncology nursing throughout Nigeria. We strive to create a unified and growing community of oncology nurses by fostering professional development, collaboration, and advocacy for the highest quality of cancer care for our patients.
The mission of ONSN is to advance the field of oncology nursing in Nigeria through education, advocacy, and collaboration; ensuring the highest quality of care for cancer patients in Nigeria.
The ONSN envisions a future where oncology nurses in Nigeria are recognized as leaders and advocates in cancer care. Our vision is to create a thriving oncology nursing community that contributes significantly to improved patient outcomes and advancements in the field.
The ONSN has six primary goals:
⇾ Promote Education: Provide oncology nurses with access to high-quality educational resources, training programs, and workshops to enhance their knowledge and skills in cancer care.
⇾ Advocate for Change: Advocate for policies and practices that improve cancer care delivery in Nigeria. This includes securing better resources for oncology units and promoting patient-centered care.
⇾ Facilitate Collaboration: Foster collaboration among oncology nurses, other healthcare professionals, and stakeholders involved in cancer care.
⇾ Disseminate Knowledge: Disseminate the latest research findings, clinical guidelines, and best practices in oncology nursing through various channels.
⇾ Empower Nurses: Empower oncology nurses to play a more prominent role in cancer care decision-making processes at all levels.
⇾ Promote Networking: Create opportunities for oncology nurses to connect and network with colleagues across Nigeria and internationally.
