Mustapha Aliyu, RN, R.Onc.N, BNSc, MIL, FIPM (India) Chief Nursing Officer, Federal Teaching Hospital, Gombe Mustapha Aliyu is a seasoned oncology nurse with over 17 years of clinical and academic experience in oncology nursing, palliative care, chemotherapy administration, brachytherapy, and nursing informatics. He holds a Bachelor of Nursing Science from the National Open University of Nigeria and a Post Basic Diploma in Oncology Nursing from the National Hospital, Abuja. A Fellow of the Institute of Palliative Medicine, India, Mustapha has played a pivotal role in establishing oncology services, including the brachytherapy unit at UMTH. He serves as the Regional Director (Northeast) for the Oncology Nursing Society of Nigeria and is an active member of SIOP Africa. His contributions to oncology nursing include research facilitation, training of intern nurses, and national policy advocacy.

ONSN was founded in 2018 and formally relaunched in June 2024.
