Each year, we empower over 2,500 oncology nurses to champion the latest advancements in cancer care, making significant contributions to the improvement of Nigeria’s healthcare system. Our focus on strengthening the role of nursing in oncology is transforming the landscape of cancer care, ensuring that every Nigerian has access to compassionate, quality, and comprehensive cancer treatment and support.

What is the Oncology Nursing Society of Nigeria (ONSN)?

ONSN is a professional organization dedicated to promoting excellence in cancer care  across Nigeria. We strive to create a unified and growing community of oncology nurses through professional development, collaboration, and advocacy for high-quality cancer care.

ONSN was founded in 2018 and formally relaunched in June 2024.

 

Membership is open to registered nurses, student nurses, cancer survivors, cancer care advocates, and any individual or institution with an interest in the cancer space.

You can become a member by visiting our website and following the direct link to the registration page. Membership is on a yearly basis, with the following fees:

  • General Membership: ₦10,000
  • Student Membership: ₦5,000
  • Institutional Membership: ₦50,000
  • Diaspora Membership: ₦50,000

Members gain exclusive access to professional development programs, networking opportunities, and the latest research in oncology. You will also be part of a collective voice advocating for improved cancer care policies in Nigeria.

Our mission is to advance oncology nursing in Nigeria through education, advocacy, and collaboration to ensure high-quality care for cancer patients.

Our core goals are to promote education, research development,  facilitate collaboration, disseminate knowledge, empower nurses, and build a strong professional network.

Explore the evolution of The Oncology Nursing Society of Nigeria(ONSN) since its first establishment in 2018, with a visionary goal that stemmed from a profound desire to  shape a future involving professionals in Nigeria concerned with cancer care. The founder envisioned a supportive community where oncology nurses could share knowledge, advance their skills and elevate the standards of cancer care across Nigeria.

In June 2024, the ONSN experienced a significant rejuvenation, revitalizing its mission and renewing its commitment to fostering excellence in oncology nursing in Nigeria. The rejuvenated ONSN continues to strive for a future where every oncology care provider is equipped with the necessary resources and recognition to deliver the highest quality of care to cancer survivors in Nigeria.
